Zhangjiajie’s ticketing is not complicated, but it is layered: one pass for the park, separate tickets for everything else, and lifts sold individually inside. This page is the whole price list in one place.

Foreign passports pay exactly the same as Chinese citizens. That is not always true in China; here it is.

The ¥533 question

The all-inclusive pass costs ¥305 more than the basic pass and gives unlimited rides on the elevator and all cable cars for four days. Whether it pays depends entirely on how often you go up and down.

Your planLift spendBuy
One day, elevator up + cable down¥144Basic pass
Two days, four rides¥288Basic pass
Three days, six rides¥432All-inclusive
Four days of lift-hopping¥500+All-inclusive

Most two- and three-day visitors come out slightly ahead with the basic pass. The all-inclusive version earns its price if you plan to revisit Yuanjiajie, or if the weather might force you to reshuffle days.

Booking with a foreign passport

  • At the gate — easiest and lowest-risk. Bring your passport; staff at Wulingyuan speak basic English. Same price as everyone else.
  • Official WeChat mini-program — search for the scenic area, switch to English, pay with WeChat Pay. Requires a linked card and some patience.
  • Trip.com / Ctrip — English interface, English support, a small booking fee. The sensible option for the glass bridge and Tianmen time slots.
  • Hotel front desk — many Wulingyuan hotels will book for you. Convenient, and they usually charge face value.

Book ahead only for: the glass bridge (sells out), Tianmen in holidays, and performances. The park pass itself is rarely unavailable.

Discounts and free entry

Children under 1.3 m enter free at almost everything; 1.3–1.5 m is usually half price. Students with a valid international student card get about 50% off the park. Visitors aged 65+ enter the national park free with a passport, and get reductions at most other sights.

There is no senior discount on the glass bridge or Tianmen for foreign passports unless you can prove age — bring the passport, not a photocopy.

Common questions

Do foreigners pay more?
No. Passport holders pay the same published prices as Chinese citizens at every attraction covered here.
Can I pay by card at the gate?
Sometimes, but not reliably. Link a Visa or Mastercard to Alipay or WeChat Pay in advance, and carry a few hundred yuan in cash.
Is the park pass valid on consecutive days only?
Yes — four consecutive days from first use. If you want a rest day in the middle, plan around it.
Do I need to print tickets?
No. Most are QR codes on your phone. Carry your passport, which is the actual key at the gate.
